The research was conducted in 2003-2005 in two agricultural farms in Skrzeszowice near Krakow (220 m a.s.1.) and in Trzebunia near Pcim (450 m a.s.l.). The experiments were set up on permanent grasslands managed by undersowing with perennial ryegrass. The experiment was used as a hayfield and grazed by dairy cattle five times during the vegetation period. The following variants were used in the experiment: control, P20K66, N120P20K66 without irradiation and with irradiation by diode and laser. The work aimed at determining the effect of diode and laser pre-sowing irradiation of seeding material for the undersowing grass species on microelement concentrations in the obtained pasture sward. Pre-sowing laser stimulation of perennial ryegrass seeds positively affected copper, zinc, boron and iron concentrations in plant dry weight in both regions of research. The sward undersown with seeding material without irradiation contained the lowest amounts of copper in the mountain region (II), iron and generally zinc in the lowland region (I). On the other band the sward undersown with diode irradiated seeding material revealed the lowest concentrations of copper in region I and baron in both region I and II.
