Four steinernematid and one heterorhabditid isolates were tested for infectivity to Galleria mellonella larvae at different temperatures. The short tests were conducted at 15,20 and 25°C using 30 insects per temperature and nematode isolate variant. Insects were placed individually into cups filled with a moisture peat. They were exposed to 20 infective juveniles for 72 h. The greatest mortality was obtained with Steinernema arenarium 05PL (64%), S. arenarium Swiss (60%), and S. glaseri Azores (46.6%). The effect of temperature was recorded for S. glaseri (Azores) only, where the insect mortality was significantly greater at 28°C than at 15°C. No effect of tested temperatures was observed in other nematode strains and isolates. The obtained data were analyzed with ANOVA.
W krótkich testach oceniono zdolność do skutecznego infekowania owadów pułapkowych G. mellonella przez wybrane gatunki i izolaty nicieni owadobójczych pochodzących z różnych rejonów geograficznych. Największą średnią śmiertelność gąsienic wywołały Steinernema arenarium 05PL (64%), S. arenarium Swiss (60%) i S. glaseri Azory (46,6%). Wyniki poddano analizie wariancji.
