Celem pracy bylo badanie zanieczyszczeń gazowych znad arterii komunikacyjnej miasta Łodzi, charakteryzującej się zwiększonym ruchem pojazdów samochodowych. Przedstawiono modele matematyczne służące do symulacji rozprzestrzeniania się zanieczyszczeń gazowych nad prostoliniowym odcinkiem drogi. Przeprowadzono symulację komputerową obliczania poziomu stężenia tlenku węgla za pomocą modelu neuronowego (perceptronu wielowarstwowego MLP - multilayer perceptron) z uwzględnieniem postaci funkcji przejścia w warstwie ukrytej i wyjściowej. Dokonano weryfikacji wyników doświadczalnych z wynikami symulacji komputerowej.
Atmosphere pollution in big urban agglomerations is caused first of all by road traffic. In many countries vehicles contribute significantly to air pollution reaching 50% for HC (hydrocarbons), 50+70% for NOx (nitric oxides) and 80% for CO (carbon monoxide). In Poland, road transport is estimated to be a source of 40-50% gas pollution. To estimate air pollution, statistical and experimental models are used most frequently when there is no good mathematical description of the process, or when data for solving equations of the mathematical model are insufficient. The models are formulated on the basis of a sufficiently big set of information obtained while observing the process. In this group of models there are very popular models built using artificial neural networks. The latest approach is the application of the artificial neural networks in predicting air pollution, among the others, on the basis of known meteorological conditions and traffic density. The aim of the study was to investigate gas pollutants from over arterial roads in the city of Łódź that are characterised by intensive traffic. Mathematical models for the simulation of gas pollutant propagation over a straight road segment are presented. A computer simulation of calculating carbon monoxide concentration was carried out using a neural model (MLP - multilayer perceptron) taking into account the form of transition function in the hidden and output layer. Experimental and computer simulation results have been verified.
