Thermal decomposition of two polyurethane (PU) sampIes have been studied, one with polyether the other with polyester soft segments. In order to evaluate the applicability of pyrolytic recycling of PUs a detailed on-line GC/MS analysis of the pyrolysis products was performed. It was observed that fast pyrolysis of PUs leads to a series of products in a wide volatility range from carbon oxides to aromatic diisocyanates and large cyclic polyether oligomers. Special attention was paid to the detection of nitriles and hydrogen cyanide, but neither of them were observed among the products even at high pyrolysis temperatures [1].
Badano rozkład termiczny próbek dwóch poliuretanów (PU); w jednym z nich giętkim segmentem było ugrupowanie polieterowe, a w drugim poliestrowe. W celu oceny możliwości recyklingu tych polimerów wykonano on-line metodą GC/MS szczegółowe analizy produktów ich pirolizy. Stwierdzono, że szybka piroliza prowadzi do powstania szeregu lotnych produktów od tlenków węgla do aromatycznych diizocyjaninów oraz dużych cyklicznych oligomerów polieterowych. Specjalną uwagę poświęcono detekcji nitryli i cyjanowodoru. Jednak wśród produktów pirolizy, nawet dla wysokich temperatur, nie wykryto obecności żadnego z nich.
