This article adresses current problems of the risk analysis and probabilistic modeling for functional safety management in a life cycle of the safety related systems. Two main stages in the life cycle of these systems are distinguished, namely the design and operation. The risk analysis and probabilistic modeling differ in these stages due to the konwledge and data available. Due to the complexity and uncertainty involved both qualitative and quantitative information can be useful in risk analysis and probabilistic modeling. Some methodological aspects of the functional safety assessment are outlined that include modeling of dependent failures or human errors and verifying the safety integrity level (SIL) under uncertainty. It is illustrated how the assumptions in the process of risk analysis and probabilistic modeling influence the results obtained and therefore, potentially the decisions undertaken in fuctional safety management.
W artykule przedstawiono aktualne problemy analizy ryzyka i modelowania probabilistycznego w zarządzaniu bezpieczeństwem funkcjonalnym w cyklu życia systemów związanych z bezpieczeństwem. Zostały wyróżnione dwa podstawowe etapy w cyklu życia tych systemów, a mianowicie etap projektowania i etap eksploatacji.
