Katowicki Holding Węglowy SA, którego założycielem i jedynym akcjonariuszem jest Skarb Państwa, prowadzi działalność od l lipca 1993 roku. Powstał zpołączeniajedenastu kopalń węgla kamiennego, tj.: "Katowice", "Wesoła", "Kleofas", "Wieczorek", "Murcki", "Wujek", "Mysłowice", "Staszic", "Śląsk", "Kazimierz-Juliusz", "Niwka-Modrzejów". W wyniku zmian strukturalnych, dzisiaj w skład KH W SA wchodzi sześć kopalń, tj.: "Murcki", "Mysłowice", "Wesoła", "Wieczorek", "Wujek" i "Staszic". W skład grupy kapitałowej KHW SA wchodzi ponadto KWK "Kazimierz-Juliusz" sp. z o.o., tworząc tzw. Katowicką Grupę Kapitałową(KGK). Katowice Coal Holding SA, the sole founder of which is the Siate Treasury, carries out its activity from l July 1993. It was established by integration of eleven hard coal mines, namely: "Katowice", "Wesoła", "Kleofas", "Wieczorek", "Murcki", "Wujek", "Mysłowice", "Staszic", "Śląsk", "Kazimierz-Juliusz", "Niwka-Modrzejów". As the result of organisational transformations today the Holding nas 6 mines. i.e.: "Murcki", "Mysłowice", "Wesoła", "Wieczorek", "Wujek" and "Staszic". Besides that "Kazimierz-Juliusz" mine operating as Ltd Company has been integrated with Katowice Coal Holding SA creating the so called Katowice Capital Group (KCG). The article discusses organisational changes, production, employment, financial results, and development directions. It also describes modern management tools of the Company in the economic-financial sphere.
