Motor fuels produced from biomass are gaining an increasing interest in Poland Regarded as a remedy to the problems of the modern economy, biofuels allow for some independence from the world's oil importers, they favour reducing atmospheric emissions of harmful combustion products and significantly contribute to reducing of electricity consumption. The literature review analyses the bioethanol market in Poland, as well as characterises raw materials for the production of biofuels. It also presents methods for efficient and economical dehydration, sourced from biomass and ethanol. There has been discussed among other things the method of membrane distillation, adsorption, and dewatering of bio-ethanol hybrid. It has been also presented some information on the characteristics and use of bioethanol as a component of conventional fossil fuels.
