Celem pracy jest charakterystyka flory nasypu nieużytkowanej linii kolejowej w okolicach Sokołowa Podlaskiego. Badania przeprowadzono w latach 2005-2006 i 2007-2008. Wykonano 180 zdjęć fitosocjologicznych metodą Brauna-Blanqueta na trzech odcinkach badawczych. Określono przynależność fitosocjologiczną występujących gatunków roślin wg MATUSZKIEWICZA [2001]. Rozpoznane gatunki pogrupowano wg form życiowych RAUNKIAERA [1934]. Dominują gatunki synantropijne z klasy Artemisietea vulgaris. Rozpoznano pięć form życiowych roślin, tj. hemikryptofity, geofity, chamefity, terofity i fanerofity. Ekosystemy przyległe do terenu badań mają wpływ na skład gatunkowy roślin nieczynnych torów kolejowych, co potwierdzają uzyskane wyniki badań.
The aim of this paper was to characterise the flora of a non-used railway embankment in Sokołów Podlaski region. The study was performed in 2005-2006 and 2007-2008. 180 phytosociological releves were made along three study sections. Lab studies included syntaxonomic and life-form analysis. Plants of 12 syntaxonomic classes and accompanying species were found. Synanathropic plants from Artemisietea vulgaris class dominated in the study area. Five types of plant life-forms were distinguished: hemicryptophytes, geophytes, chamephytes, therophytes, and phanerophytes. Ecosystems adjacent to the study area were found to affect species composition on railway embankments.
