W opracowaniu przedstawiono przydatność metody obliczania czasów wysokotemperaturowego utleniania stali w atmosferze powietrza do przewidywania głębokości warstw odwęglonych. Przeprowadzony eksperyment wykazał jednakowe głebokości warstw odwęglonych w temperaturach 940, 1020 i 1100 stopni C, a także zgodność obserwowanych głębokości warstw dyfuzyjnych z rozkładem mikrotwardości i stężeniem węgla.
In the paper results of the research onthe method of anticipating the decarbonized layer thickness as a effect of high temperature oxidation of steel in the ambient air are presented. The experiment proved that the applied method could be used to determination of the decarbonized thickness laver - the measured thickness obtained after oxidation at the temperature 940, 1020 and 1100 grades C is similar. Simultaneously the appropriate changes in carbon contens and microhardness distribution are observed.
