Wybranymi substratami były: a) metan z dwutlenkiem węgla, b) metan i etan z dwutlenkiem węgla oraz c) metan z dwutlenkiem węgla i parą wodną. Przeprowadzono też: analizę wyników obliczeń, dyskusję dotyczącą katalizatorów, omówienia dwóch komercyjnych procesów DMR (Sparg i Calcor) oraz zasygnalizowano aspekty ekologiczne technologii DMR.
Synthesis gas (or syngas), a mixture of different quantities of hydrogen and carbon monoxide, can be used to produce high purity hydrogen stream and is one of the most important feedstock for production many chemicals and synthetic fuels, presented in Fig.1. Methane is the main component of natural gas although significant amounts other gases such as ethane and carbon dioxide might be present. Actually, syngas is produced mostly by natural gas steam reforming (SMR). Less common routes to convert natural gas into synthesis gas are partial hydrocarbons oxidation (POX), carbon dioxide reforming (DMR) and combinations of these reactions routes. This paper is focused for DMR technology and its applications. Firstly, the thermodynamic calculations of the reforming of methane, ethane with carbon dioxide and methane with carbon dioxide and/or steam have been done. The equilibrium composition of syngas and amount of carbon deposition as a function temperature, pressure and feedstock have been reported in tables and figures. Finally, analysis of the computational data, the most commonly used catalysts, industrially available DMR processes (Sparg and Calcor) and environmental aspects of the DMR technology are discussed.
