W pracy przedstawiono wyniki badań zmierzające do rozwoju metody prognozowania niestacjonarnego przepływu mieszaniny powietrza i gazów w sieciach wentylacyjnych, zrobach, w procesie przewietrzania kopalń, z uwzględnieniem naturalnych i katastrofi cznych zaburzeń w warunkach przepływu. W drugiej części pokazano nowe możliwości praktycznego wykorzystania programu komputerowego Vent- Zroby do badań stanów przewietrzania na przykładzie rejonu wentylacyjnego ściany 4 i 5 pokład 409 kopalni Śląsk, w której miało miejsce tragiczne zdarzenie we wrześniu 2009 roku. W celu walidacji rozwiązań modelowych w zakresie wyznaczenia przepływu powietrza i metanu w rejonie ściany wykorzystano dane z kopalnianego systemu monitoringu prędkości powietrza i stężenia metanu w wyrobiskach po zatrzymaniu wentylatora głównego przewietrzania. Brak danych pomiarowych o parametrach przepływu powietrza (prędkości, ciśnienia itp.) dla rejonu ściany, przed zdarzeniem utrudnił ustalenie danych początkowych do symulacji.
The study summarises the research data to be used for development of a method for forecasting the non-stationary flows of air and gas mixtures in ventilation networks, goafs, and formed during the ventilation processes, taking into account the natural and catastrophic flow disturbances. It is assumed that all vital information about the ventilation conditions are available from the automatic gas flow control system in the mine. The results of previous attempts to validate the program VenZroby were sufficiently promising and thus prompted the development of a new approach to creating numerical models of ventilation networks in the mines, incorporating the goafs too. It is suggested that numerical models should be used that are developed on the basis of the Ventilation Engineer’s Ventgraph program, with incorporated goaf areas. The newly designed program’s algorithm and interface seem to be more user-friendly. The second part of study explores the potential applications of the program VentZroby in analysing the air conditions. The case study considered there is that of the face regions 4 and 5 in the colliery “Śląsk” where a catastrophic accident occurred in September 2009. An attempt is made to reconstruct the ventilation conditions before the accident, taking into account the methane hazard. Such analyses are most helpful when studying the causes of the accident and enable us to develop professional tools for evaluating the risks due to flow and migration of explosive or toxic gases- the products of spreading coal fires in goafs. To validate the model solutions (prognosticated flows of air and methane in the face region), the monitoring data were used, available from the air velocity and ,methane concentration control systems after the main fan was switched off. Because of the lack of measurement data about the air flow parameters (velocity, pressure) before the accident, it was difficult to fi nd the initial data for simulations. Calculations supported by the program VentZroby, for variable model parameters, were done such as to achieve the best agreement between the calculation results and data available from the automatic gas flow control systems in the mine. Results revealed a number of difficulties involved in finding the parameters of the numerical model using the data from the gas flow control system, due to with point-to-point measurements implemented in these systems and random disturbances of airflow measurement signals. To prove the reliability of thus obtained results, they have to be confirmed by comparative measurements taken at those points of the ventilation network in the mine where the monitoring sensors are installed. Random disturbances of airflow parameters registered by the sensors, making up the gas flow control system, can be eliminated through filtering of measurement signals before they are used in model tests.
