This paper presents the impact of problems present at high and very high traffic intensity on the functioning of intersections with roundabouts with traffic signals. These types of intersections are often used in Poland in city centers on multi-lane roads with high and very high traffic intensity. Additionally, this type of intersection is commonly used in the case of existing tram tracks in the lane that separates roadways. With high impact made by intense traffic of vehicles turning left or making U-turn, roundabouts with traffic signals becomes an intersection that is extremely difficult for traffic control. Small area of accumulation within the area of central island is a neuralgic point, substantially impacting capacity of this type of junctions. For the purpose of analysis in progress, microsimulation models, made in Vissim software, have been used, which allowed projecting conditions that exist on a junction and indicating problematic locations.
