This article attempts to demonstrate that logistics service cargo container terminals substantially affect the economic success of the terminal. Port availability resulting from natural conditions plus a modern infrastructure and terminal suprastruktura complemented with modern information and information systems is able to meet the challenges of today's maritime container transport consisting in the quick service largest container ships in the harbor and the possibility of rapid redirection of containers from large ships to smaller vessels, including inland navigation and transport by road and rail. As an example of the proper development of the container terminal is given a terminal with the most dynamic development in the Baltic Sea Region - deepwater DCT (Deepwater Container Terminal) in Gdansk.
