The paper notes, that there is yet an overlooked in LCA based analysis „energy” aspect of construction – its economic cost. Author’s energy embodied in economic value indicator is an attempt to link economics and physics. An attempt based on reliable statistical data gathered by the Central Statistical Office. Looking through sustainability indicators published by – it is hard to not see that every penny given must be associated with the use of environmental resources, including – energy. Author’s indicator, brings the answer to a question, does increasement of energy efficiency and the use of renewable energy sources should be pursued „at all costs”, and allows to take another point of view also at other aspects of sustainability in everyday life.
