Pollution of air by particulate matter is a serious problem occurring for decades. Extensive monitoring studies are conducted to determine the impact of air pollution on the condition of buildings, all the elements of the environment and human health. However, there is little available literature presenting research on the association between exposure to particulate matter in sport facilities and the performance of sportsmen. The paper presents the results of the research into particulate matter in sport facilities in two Warsaw universities: the Main School of Fire Service and the Academy of Physical Education. Measurements carried out in these objects revealed high concentration of different fractions of particulate matter. This situation can affect the reduction of health safety of people actively engaged in performing sports in these sport facilities.
