Wszczepialny rozrusznik serca dostarcza impulsy stymulacyjne do serca pacjenta i jednocześnie monitoruje stan mięśnia sercowego.
An implantable pacemaker provides stimulation impulses to the patient’s heart and monitors his condition at the same time. The device contains a pulse generator and one or more electrical wires (electrodes). Stimulation systems implanted in patients can perform various functions. Currently, the number of implantations of stimulating or resynchronizing systems is still increasing both in Poland and in the world. These are modern devices that allow for accurate analysis of the patient’s heartbeat, tachyarrhythmia, as well as cardiac conduction disorders. These devices are fully automated. There are several types of pacemakers: single chamber, dual chamber, three chamber (CRT). In the naming, three-letter codes have been introduced to describe the operation of the pacemaker. During the implantation of the devices as well as their subsequent control in outpatient clinics, several parameters are measured that are responsible for the proper functioning of the stimulation system. Implantable stimulating devices are invaluable help in patients with various types of cardiac disorders – they protect against dangerous events that can be fatal, and also improve the quality of life of the patient, allowing him to function normally.
