One of the basic tools used in contemporary petrography, which no petrographic laboratory could do without, is a polarizing microscope. The versatility of this instrument allows us to quickly identify a rock based on its mineral composition, as well as to initially classify samples for further testing and for more in-depth mineralogical, petrographic, petrogenetic, tectonic or technological analyses.
