On June 15, 2007 in the valley of the Ri- ver Raba near the village Marszowice (sou- thern Poland) Platycnemis pennipes (2 ) and Ischnura elegans (1 ) were caught to a light trap. Both species occurred nume- rously on the river or in an adjacent gravel- pit and they were probably activated by the strong light.
In the year 1825 and 1840 Toussaint de CHARPENTIER published two very important for European odonatology works describing new species of dragon+ies. For 10 of them Śląsk (Silesia) was established as locus ty- picus, thus typical materials being the basis of species description came from the areas of Poland. CHARPENTIER lived and worked in Brzeg, in the vicinities of Opole.
Wyznaczono tu dwa stanowiska badawcze: IIA i IIB (ryc. 1)...
Coenagrion ornatum is a critically en- dangered species in Poland. It has been know from 24 localities so far, of which only one is preserved till now – in Śniatycze situated east of Zamość (south-eastern Poland). The authors give and discuss a new species lo- cality situated west-north-west of Zamość, ca. 40 km from Śniatycze, in the village of Średnie Duże (50°50’32”N, 23°01’15”E, UTM: FB43) (Fig...
Crocothemis erythraea belongs to rare species in Poland. Previously it was mainly recorded in southern and eastern part of the country, sites from the west were definitely less numerous. The site described in the paper near Dzwonów (53o24’43” N; 15o12’37” E) is the northernmost site of this species in Po- land. It is the complex of a dozen or so ponds with the total area of 500 ha. A study upon the total abundance of two whitefaces, Leucorrhinia caudalis and Leucorrhinia pectoralis was performed at the beginning of June 2008 in the nature reser- ve “Zdręczno Lake”, Tuchola Forest. During studies on spiders of high peat bogs in Orawa - Nowy Targ Basin (southern Poland), a few larvae of two Soma- tochlora species were caught in Barber's traps. Larvae were found in traps situated by the edges of peat bogs, in places without isolated water bodies, in patches of damp Sphagnum. Somatochlora alpestris was caught in Puścizna Wielka (49°27'N, 19°46'E, UTM: DV 17) and Baligówka (49°28'N,...
In 2009, I conducted an Odonata inventarisation in 6 areas of the Narew National Park, which resulted in the documentation of 23 species. Besides that, I also analysed all the inventarisation works which were done in the Park area, a total of 44 species were until now documented.
The author presents a list of Polish and dedicated to Poland odonatological papers that were published in the year 2009. In the reported time period, 33 papers were published. Eight papers published in the year 2008 are given too.
Twenty exuviae of Coenagrion puella were marked and observed for three weeks in 2005. The number of marked exuviae rapidly declined and after 23 days there were only 30% of exuviae left; these were so weather-worn that it was impossible to identify them. To collect 50% of the exuviae it would be necessary to visit a locality 10 days after emergence.
The paper presents data on 22 localities of Crocothemis erythraea recorded in Poland in 2009 (Fig. 1). 20 localities are completely new which corresponds with 40% of contemporary known so far ones (Bernard et al. 2009). Data is given from the South Greater Poland Lowland in western Poland (4 localities) as well as different regions in south-eastern Poland (18 localities). The species occupied wide...
