During excavations in the Byzantine fortress in Odărci (Bulgaria) a fragment of deco-rated wineglass/or beaker came to light. The brownish-red opaque threads applied below the rim and on the body, as well as painted, unfortunately very fragmentarily preserved Greek inscription, make this vessel unique. Most probably it was made in one of the glass workshops operating in the Eastern Mediterranean....
