Polish migration to Norway is a fairly new phenomenon, which has rapidly been gaining force since Poland's EU accession. In order to gain insight into the character of this recent wave of labour migration a pilot study of Polish migrants in Oslo was carried out in joint co-operation of Fafo Institute of Labour and Social Research, Oslo and Centre for Migration Research, Warsaw. The PMO study took place in and October-December 2006. It focused on issues pertaining to the working and living conditions of the Polish migrants in Norway. For the purpose of maximizing representativeness of the surveyed population, respondent-driven sampling, a methodology so far applied to 'hidden populations' and thus novel to migration research was used. Preliminary results of the survey will be published in March 2007.
