In this paper, a kind of theoretical method of how to find out the dominant cladding modes in the all in-fiber interferometer is proposed. The relationship between the cladding modes spatial frequency and its modal order and sensing optical fiber length are simulated. It can be found that the fiber length increasing can make the value of the dominant cladding spatial frequency linearly increase. The...
We report an idler-resonant femtosecond optical parametric oscillator (OPO) with average output power of 520 mW, repetition-rate of 80 MHz, pulse duration of 90 fs and nearly diffraction-limited beam quality at ∼2.4 µm.
We demonstrate an optical access network utilizing downstream silicon microring single-sideband modulation and upstream phase-remodulation of a centrally distributed carrier. Rayleigh-backscattering is suppressed by using the destructive port of the delay-interferometer demodulating the upstream signal.
We demonstrate for the first time four-wave mixing based wavelength conversion of phase modulated optical signals in dispersion-engineered silicon waveguides. Error-free operation and 1-dB power penalties are experimentally obtained for 10-GB/s DPSK wavelength-converted signals.
We describe the design and experimental results of an integrated polarization-diversity DPSK demodulator. The integration of 2-D chirped grating couplers enabled polarization-diversity operation with two micro-ring resonators which converted the phase modulation to intensity modulation.
