In this paper, we propose a new miniaturized dual band frequency selective surface (FSS) for Wi-Fi applications. The proposed FSS possesses 0.42 GHz and 0.30 GHz bandwidths with insertion loss less than −15 dB around the two central operating frequencies 2.4 GHz and 4.6 GHz, respectively. The FSS exhibits excellent miniaturization with 0.057⋋1 × 0.057⋋1 or 0.11⋋2×0.11⋋2 unit cells, where ⋋1 and ⋋2...
In this paper, a miniaturized frequency selective surface (FSS) composed of convoluted element of dipoles is proposed. The FSS is printed on one face of a single-layer substrate with a relative permittivity of 2.65. The novel FSS has promising miniaturization characteristics with the unit cell dimension 0.042λ×0.042λ, where λ represents the free-space wavelength corresponding to the resonant frequency...
In this letter, a new sort of second-order band-pass frequency selective surface (FSS) with patch-wire-patch elements arranged in triangular grid is proposed. The compact FSS has the merits of broadband response. The −0.5dB bandwidth reaches up to 40.3% and the −3dB bandwidth reaches up to 66%. Moreover, the proposed FSS owns its advantages of miniaturization and excellent insensitivity to incident...
A dual-passband frequency selective surface (FSS) is presented. The complementary square loop resonators are used in each unit cell to obtain dual-passband response. The proposed FSS structure is independent of incident wave polarizations and angles because of centrosymmetric of the unit cell. The FSS exhibits dual-band response with −3dB bandwidth of 5.39GHz-6.31GHz and 11.85GHz-15.04GHz, respectively...
Non-coherent energy detectors are motivated for impulse radios with simple circuitry. A performance degradation arises from the threshold effect at low SNR. Here, the phase-locked loop (PLL) is applied to estimate the time-of-arrival (TOA) of received impulses. In the schemes, the impulses received are processed as the excitation signals in the sampled phased-locked loop. Furthermore, the principle...
