Evolutionary Programming (EP) combined with clustering technique is used as an efficient optimization method for general coupling matrix synthesis of multiple coupled resonator filters. The proposed method provides global solution when strong local minima exist in the domain of search. Examples of practical filters with general response and topology synthesized with this method are presented.
This paper presents a novel approach to realize a low-cost wide tunable Whispering Gallery Mode (WGM) resonance-based structure at Millimeter-wave and sub-THz range of frequencies. The tunability is achieved by moving a metallic structure over the WGM resonator using a micro-positioner. Perturbing the WGM resonance causes shift in the resonance frequency and the coupling. Two types of perturbation...
The experimental and theoretical study of a low cost, and high sensitivity biosensor based on the Whispering Gallery Mode (WGM) resonance at D-band is reported. The sensitivity, selectivity, and repeatability of the proposed sensor are examined and experimentally verified for different concentrations of glucose in water solution at 124.7 GHz.
