We demonstrate for the first time an RF photonic phase shifter using stimulated Brillouin scattering on chip, with wide bandwidth operation. We achieve 180° phase shift range over 2–15 GHz frequency band.
We demonstrate an on-chip dynamic grating using stimulated Brillouin scattering in a 6.5cm long chalcogenide waveguide. The measured grating reflectivity is comparable to that measured in tens-of-meter long fiber and the On-Off ratio is ∼28dB.
We present on-chip, all-optical pulse erasure for enabling ultrahigh-bandwidth signal processing. 15 dB pump depletion is achieved for picoseconds pulses using the instantaneous χ(3) nonlinearity in a dispersion-engineered chalcogenide waveguide.
We demonstrate a broadband/flexible wavelength operation photonic chip based all-optical XOR operation for 160 Gbit/s DPSK optical signals. This demonstrates the potential of broadband all-optical signal-processing on a chalcogenide (As2S3) chip.
We report the first demonstration of on-chip stimulated Brillouin scattering (SBS). The measured Brillouin shift and line width are ∼7.7 GHz and 6 MHz in a 7 cm long chalcogenide waveguide.
