The conviction of ??the golden first hour?? and ??the platinum ten minutes?? has been the model professional standard of emergency medical assistance. However, in many countries, the medical services are not up to the standard. A telemedicine system, based on WiMAX wireless technology, is proposed for emergency medical assistance and to implement in the ambulance. The system is specially designed...
By employing Bayesian neural network, a new QoS prediction algorithm for high speed packet access network has been developed. Network performances are evaluated based on a well developed call admission control scheme, namely the tri-threshold bandwidth reservation scheme. The algorithm helps to improve the resource management, thus saving the cost and bandwidth.
A total QoS solution including dynamic call admission control scheme and bandwidth allocation algorithm is proposed for IEEE 802.16e mobile WiMAX. In this paper, the relationship between the channel utilization, the dropping and blocking probability versus traffic loads are investigated. The proposed WiMAX scheme supports voice, data and multimedia services with differentiated QoS.

In this paper, a new analytical model for performance analysis of output-buffered Banyan networks is proposed. In this model, we consider not only the number of packets stored in a buffer, but also the state of the buffer's Head of Line (HOL) packet (“new” or “blocked”). Simulations are used to verify the model's accuracy. The analytical results show that the maximum throughput decreases when the...
The parallel between the channel assignment of multilayer cellular networks and grading designs first used in analogue telephone exchanges is drawn. This allows the use of approximated results developed for grading designs to the calculation of call congestion in multilayer cellular networks. In addition, approximations based on the equivalent random method are developed for the case of a two-layer...
