Enterococcus gallinarum strains isolated from some Nigerian fermented foods were found to produce bacteriocins. The bacteriocins had a broad spectrum of activity against both Gram-positive and negative bacteria. The effects of the bacteriocins and bacteriocinogenic organisms on Staphylococcus aureus infections in rats were evaluated. Sprague-Dawley rats were infected with S. aureus MTCC 737 and treated...
In this work we present a methodology for intelligent path planning in an uncertain environment using vision like sensors. We show that the problem of path planning can be posed as the adaptive control of an uncertain Markov decision process. The strategy for path planning then reduces to computing the control policy based on the current estimate of the environment, also known as the "certainty...
In this work we present a methodology for intelligent path planning in an uncertain environment. Examples would include a mobile robot exploring an unknown terrain or a UAV navigating enemy territory while avoiding radar detection. We show that the problem of path planning in an uncertain environment, under certain assumptions, can be posed as the adaptive optimal control of an uncertain Markov decision...
The article presents findings of in-line temperature measurement of polymer melts during flow in a capillary rheometer. Two industrially relevant measurement methods are described and sources of potential measurement errors are discussed. Comments are made about the suitability of these techniques to measure temperature during processing by injection moulding or by extrusion.
