We establish an analytical model to analyze the impact of “information distortion” caused by concurrent rerouting after a network failure. The estimate values derived from the analytical model agree well with the experimental results.
We propose a novel active stateful PCE-based inter-domain routing strategy for BRPC domain sequence selection, which is validated through experiments. Results show that our proposed strategy performs better in blocking probability.
A distributed architecture based on stateful PCE is proposed to realize end-to-end connection provisioning in multi-domain multi-vendor optical networks. We report a successful field trial of end-to-end connection establishment across three domains using commercial devices from three equipment venders.
This paper compares potential architectures to achieve inter-connection in multi-vendor multi-domain heterogeneous optical networks. An experimental multi-vendor network test-bed based on a novel PIONEER architecture is also presented with some preliminary results.
We propose a novel outer-ROADM-ring (ORR) based multi-domain routing scheme in optical WDM networks. Results show that this scheme has both high scalability and low blocking probability, while preserving inter-domain confidentiality as well.
An incremental capacity allocation with topology augmentation problem is investigated to maximize the number of backup path provisioned services in WDM mesh networks. Numerical results show that all the services can be provisioned a backup path with little number of new links added to the existing topology.
We propose a MILP based design model for energy reduction in IP over dynamic optical networks. By virtual topology reconfiguration, it can dynamically switch off unnecessary networking equipments, and reduce the power caused by over-provision. Simulation results indicate that the proposed design can significantly improve network energy performance.
In this study, we investigate the dynamic connection provisioning problem in mixed-line-rate (MLR) optical networks. Fast heuristic algorithms are proposed for both fixed and tunable node architectures. Results show that our algorithm can significantly reduce the blocking probability and save the transceivers under tunable node architecture.
Our proposed information-diffusion-based routing (IDBR) is implemented on Tsinghua University's large-scale ASON test-bed. The procedure of IDBR is validated together with RSVP-TE signaling in the experiment. Results show that the IDBR is fast converged and has low bandwidth consumption.
Localized adaptation strategy with cooperation of sleeping mechanism and lightpath bypass reconfiguration is proposed for energy-saving transport in dynamic IP-over-WDM networks. Analysis and Simulations indicate that total energy consumption is reduced by the novel strategy.
We propose a novel information-diffusion-based routing (IDBR) scheme in wavelength routed WDM mesh networks. The IDBR scheme has the fast convergence and the low bandwidth consumption of OSPF-TE while requires lower computational complexity as RIP.
<para> A resource-efficient provisioning framework (RPF) is proposed in this paper for optical networks providing dedicated path protection (DPP) and shared path protection (SPP) services. The framework reduces resource consumption by considering spare capacity reservation of DPP and SPP cooperatively while provides 100% survivability guarantee and maintains the recovery time for both protection...
