A new supramolecular system between a barbituric acid-substituted fullerene derivative (1) and dipyrenemethyl-substituted melamine (2) through hydrogen-bonding interaction was prepared. The formation of hydrogen bonding was confirmed by 1 H NMR studies in CDCl 3 /CS 2 . The photocurrent generation of the self-assembled film of 2·1 was measured and a cathodic photocurrent response...
Indium tin oxide (ITO) electrodes modified chemically with self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) of C 60 -perylenetetracarboxylic diimide-C 60 triad have been designed for the first time to act as an efficient light-to-current converter in molecular devices. The monolayers were characterized using UV–Vis, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and atomic force microscopy. Photoelectrochemical...
In this paper, the chemical reduction of solubilized multi-walled carbon nanotubes by LiAlH 4 was investigated. The amide groups on the nanotubes could be reduced to hydroxyl groups, which was confirmed by FTIR and XPS studies. The Raman spectroscopic investigation showed that the morphology of the nanotubes did not change after the reduction.
Bamboo-like carbon nanotubes (NTs) were synthesized by a pyrolysis of iron(II) phthalocyanine under Ar/H 2 at 1000 o C. Transmission electron microscopy was used to investigate the bamboo-like nanotubes. The growth mechanism of the bamboo-like NTs is proposed in detail, especially the formation process of compartments of the bamboo-like NTs. The graphite sheath sliding out from the...
