This letter introduces a versatile data-rate and modulation format transparent optical transmitter for 360-Gb/s transmission based on optical arbitrary waveform generation (OAWG) techniques. An experimental implementation of static OAWG, or line-by-line pulse shaping, with a silica arrayed-waveguide-grating pair waveform shaper, demonstrates creation of repetitive time-domain waveforms representing...
We demonstrate ultrahigh-fidelity (G Lt 0.4%) optical arbitrary waveform generation using an integrated arrayed-waveguide-grating pair based 128-channel Fourier pulse shaper with computer-controlled-feedback, a 17-mode 40-GHz optical-frequency comb source, and cross-correlation frequency-resolved optical-gating measurements.
We present a phase nonuniformity correction method for two-dimensional spatial light modulators within pulse shapers using only an incoherent broadband source and an optical spectrum analyzer. Compensation results are studied with XFROG and optical-CDMA.
