Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) must be interrupted for reliable rhythm analysis in current automatic external defibrillators because of artifacts produced by chest compressions. However, interruptions in CPR adversely affect the restoration of spontaneous circulation and survival. Suppressing CPR artifacts by digital signal processing techniques is a promising method to enable rhythm analysis...
This paper presents the modeling and design consideration of a time-based ADC architecture that uses VCOs in a high-linearity, 2nd-order noise-shaping delta-sigma ADC. Instead of driving the VCO by a continuous analog signal, which suffers from the nonlinearity problem of the VCO gain, the VCO is driven in an intrinsically linear way, by a time-domain PWM signal. The two discrete levels of the PWM...
This paper presents an energy-efficient contention based cooperative routing scheme for event detection in wireless sensor networks. In order to improve detection efficiency and diminish energy consumption, ECCRD selects the appropriate relay node by integrated consideration of detection efficiency, access probability and energy consumption. In the scheme, we propose a well-defined cooperative access...
In this paper, we propose a general expression of the peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) distribution in orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems with unequal power allocation strategy, which is based on the extreme value theory for Chi-squared-2 process. The proposed general distribution of the PAPR depends on the number of the subcarriers, distribution of the power allocation and...
Inter-cell interference coordination is an important question studied in 3GPP for Evolved UTRA (E-UTRA). The objective is to reduce interference and to increase cell-edge throughput and cell throughput. A novel interference mitigation technique, called resource time and frequency joint plan and scheduling (TFJPS), is introduced. Simulation results illustrate that enhanced performance is achieved.
