Objective
To examine how pre‐pregnancy body mass index (BMI), parity, and pregnancy‐related weight changes are associated with long‐term risk of degenerativemusculoskeletal conditions.
Methods
A total of 79,687 mothers with singleton births from the Danish National Birth Cohort were included. Information on height and weight prior to pregnancy and 6 months postpartum as well as gestational weight gain (GWG) was obtained from telephone interviews, while parity was derived from the Danish Medical Birth Registry.
