Compressive sensing is a new paradigm which seeks to sample only the essential elements of the signal. We demonstrate the application of the compressive sensing approach to in-line digital Fresnel hologram. It is demonstrated that in order to apply the compressive sensing approach effectively on digitally recorded Fresnel field a special sampling scheme should be adopted.
