In this paper, the design and experiment of the conventional electron beam spreading system for W-band gyrotron oscillator collector is presented. The conventional spread system consists of a magnetic shade and two pairs of coils. The particle-in-cell (PIC) simulation of the collector under the conventional spreading system has been finished. The power density distribution of the electron beam on...
In this paper, the prototype and design of the double-beam magnetron injection gun (MIG) of the gyrotron is presented. The double-beam MIG is simulated and designed by the particle-in-cell (PIC) software CHIPIC and the steady-state beam trajectory software EGUN respectively. The simulation results of the double-beam MIG by the two type of the software are compared.
In this paper, a continuous wave (CW) low-voltage second harmonic gyrotron with the conventional cavity has been preliminarily designed and evaluated with self-consistent nonlinear simulation code and the particle-in-cell code CHIPIC. The simulation results of the two codes are shown to be in agreement basically. The 35 kW CW output power of the designed harmonic gyrotron driven by a 25 kV 5.0A electron...
In this paper, a W-band gyrotron oscillator based on superconducting magnet is put forward. A 4 T conduction-cooled superconducting magnet with a room temperature bore of Phi100 mm was designed. The homogeneity of magnetic field in the interaction region is about 0.5%.
In this paper, a low-voltage second harmonic gyrotron oscillator with the conventional cavity has been preliminarily designed and evaluated with the self-consistent nonlinear code and the particle-in-cell code CHIPIC. The Ka-band gyrotron oscillator is driven by the 25-kV 5.0-A electron beam from a magnetron injection gun. The output power of 35-kW continuous wave (CW) is obtained in the designed...
