Using aperture-fed stacked curl elements, a full corporate-fed millimeter-wave planar broadband circularly polarized antenna array is proposed. First, the stacked curl element is aperture-fed, using the substrate-integrated waveguide (SIW) feeding network. This element is designed under a specific boundary condition, which leads to an excellent agreement of impedance bandwidth and axial ratio (AR)...
Folded substrate integrated waveguide (FSIW) has been proposed for further size reduction, while keeping the advantages of traditional SIW. FSIW-based horn antennas are very promising in millimeter wave applications. To improve the bandwidth and efficiency of such antennas, a thick substrate is preferred but the microstrip feeding line becomes unacceptly wide to obtain a reasonable impedance. This...
The advantages of broad band and high efficiency make CBSA (cavity-backed slot antenna) a potential alternative for modern SAR (Synthetic Aperture Radar) systems. Therefore, a broadband CBSA is proposed for dual-polarization SAR system. By adopting double-layer wide slots and strip-lines feed, dual-polarization is achieved while still maintaining broad bandwidth. To enhance the antenna integration,...
A dual-band omni-directional monopole/dielectric resonator antenna fed by the substrate integrated coaxial line (SICL) is designed for 2.4/5 GHz WiFi application. Simulated results show that the fractional bandwidths are 10% and 50%, and the antenna gains are 1.8 dBi and 2.3 dBi at 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands, respectively.
