An optical OFDM system with constellation fine adjustment scheme is proposed and experimentally demonstrated. The complexity of the scheme is analyzed and proved to be acceptable. The single-mode fiber transmission distance of a 56Gb/s O-OFDM system is successfully extended by 350-km at the FEC limit with less reference symbols added.
An all-optical orthogonal frequency division multiplexing scheme with 200 GSample/s optical sampling technique is proposed and experimentally demonstrated. 50 Gb/s AO-OFDM data is successfully transmitted over a 20 km umcompensated single-mode-fiber link with real-time direct-detection.
A novel optical single-sideband DD-OFDM system based on balance receiver is proposed and demonstrated. With elimination of inter-modulation distortion (IMD) near the optical carrier, our system achieves spectrum efficiency about 1.54 bps/Hz with 4QAM mapping and CSPR is improved by 3 dB with negligible EVM penalty.
