In this paper, a number of planar monopole antennas are first investigated to maximize the bandwidth with a fixed area of the radiator. This is done by changing the feed gap (the spacing between the radiator and the ground) as well as the length and width of the ground plane with the aid of a simulation package. A comparison of these antennas along with two different feed lines (microstrip and co-planar...
The present paper reports a planar, microstrip-fed Ultra Wideband (UWB) monopole antenna designed to operate inside a Universal Serial Bus (USB) dongle. The antenna was dielectrically loaded with a sandwich fabricated in commercial substrate. This design improves on a coaxial fed monopole presented earlier by showing a better matching through the UWB [3.1 - 10.6] GHz band. Wideband efficiency measurements...
A perturbation model with a single-offset microstrip feed is used in the design of a corner-deleted square patch microstrip antenna. It is shown that the use of the offset-feed significantly increases the size of the deleted segments and thus relaxing the fabrication tolerance.
