Die optische Kopplung zwischen Au‐Nanostäben (Au‐NRs) und chiralen Quantenpunkten (QDs) in Aggregaten wurde im Experiment und durch Rechnungen untersucht. Die gekoppelte Aktivität im sichtbaren Bereich kann gezielt beeinflusst werden, indem man entweder das Länge/Breite‐Verhältnis der Au‐NRs (rechts im Bild) oder die Größe der QDs ändert (links).
CD für QD: Durch chirale Biomoleküle stabilisierte CdTe‐ oder CdSe‐Quantenpunkte (QDs) zeigen einen charakteristischen größenabhängigen Circulardichroismus (CD) im sichtbaren Spektralbereich. Rechnungen zufolge entsteht dieser CD aus der schwachen optischen Aktivität der Biomoleküle, kombiniert mit einer großen Verstärkung infolge der starken Absorption der QDs.
