This paper describes a low-profile X-band center-fed reflector antenna with a novel compact feed that features low-cost PCB fabrication, peak realized gain of 24 dBi, and low sidelobes (<− 25dB) in the E and H plane. This reflector has a diameter of 22.54 cm and height of 5.3cm with the focus located in the aperture plane, i.e. F/D ratio of 0.25, making it challenging to achieve pattern symmetry...
A novel low-profile X-band reflector antenna fed with a special PEC-backed dipole feed located at the aperture plane is presented. This antenna assembly has an aperture size of 8 inches and height of 2″. The radome is made of a 1/16th″ Teflon sheet. This antenna produces realized gain of 23.1dB and first side lobe level of less than −25dB below main peak at 10.2GHz. The −10 dB reflection coefficient...
A new two-layer dielectric rod antenna was developed for near-field probing purpose from 2 to 8 GHz frequency range. The measured and simulated data demonstrate its superiority over other existing probes. Based on its performance, the antenna is not only suitable for scanning the near-field, but for feeding reflectors with small F/D ratios, such as compact ranges.
