Perpendicular magnetic recording (PMR) has been recognized for many years as having the potential to extend recording densities beyond the capabilities of longitudinal recording. This paper discusses the challenges in designing perpendicular thin-film recording media materials.
In this work, CoPtCr-oxide films were deposited with three types of oxide additives(Si-O, Cr-O, Ti-O).
