We propose and experimentally verify an independent component analysis (ICA) based channel equalizer in multiband PDM-CO-OFDM using only a few training symbols. Compared with the conventional channel equalizer, the ICA-based channel equalizer achieves better transmission performances and higher spectral efficiency.
Frequency offset estimation algorithms for M-ary quadrature amplitude modulation based on the maximization of the periodogram of fourth-power samples have been investigated. In this letter, a low complexity estimation algorithm using interpolated discrete Fourier transform approach is introduced to replace the gradient descent (GD) or the chirp $z$ transform (CZT) methods. The numerical simulations...
We propose a novel guard-band-shared direct detection scheme to improve the receiver spectrum efficiency. A 100-Gb/s DDO-OFDM/OQAM signal transmission has been successfully demonstrated over 80-km SSMF using a single photodiode within 50-GHz optical grid.
A 2.5Gb/s/λ bi-directional coherent UDWDM-PON is demonstrated with 4-ASK modulation using heterodyne detection. The frequency offset tolerance is around 6 GHz within 0.5-dB penalty, and no EDFA is needed in either ONU or OLT.
