As a widely used over-the-top (OTT) video technique, adaptive bitrate video streaming has attracted considerable research attention and efforts. Traditional bitrate adaptation schemes rely on quality of service (QoS) to assess video delivery quality. However, in this paper, we argue that QoS may not accurately reflect the user-perceived video quality, especially in time-varying wireless networks....
As video streaming becomes one of the most fast growing and dominant applications in fixed and mobile networks, how to provide high quality and user satisfaction is a widely studied research topic. In this paper, we develop an analytical framework to derive the downloading rate and bandwidth requirement, so that certain objective quality of experience (QoE) constraints are met. Particularly, application-specific...
In this presentation, we proposed an all-optical broadband THz modulator based on single-layer graphene (SLG) on silicon. By illuminating the film with CW laser, the THz transmission decreased significantly. The modulation speed was measured at 340GHz to be as high as 0.5 MHz. This modulator has huge potential for real application.
