A purified single-walled carbon nanotube (SWCNT) sample was prepared in bulk especially without using a substrate in order to completely remove the effect of third harmonic generation (THG) from the substrate. Using the intense femtosecond laser pulses in near infrared, we observed relatively strong third harmonic generation (THG) in visible region only from SWCNT.
We propose one dimensional fiber end-surface grating fabricated by inscribing micro- structure on the cleaved surface of a thermally expanded core fiber with femtosecond laser pulses. For the monitoring of signals, the diffraction patterns according to the wavelength of input light were investigated.
