Complex surface conductivity at THz frequencies allowing the propagation of relatively slow plasmonic modes results from the unique electronic band structure of graphene, which is followed by a drastically reduced electrical size of the array unit cell and thereby reconfigurable performance. The reflectarray element based on silicon dioxide substrate and Boron Nitride substrate has been developed...
Metamaterial Electromagnetically Induced Transparency (EIT) structures have attracted much attention for their significant applications in terahertz rotation sensing, filters, storage and temperature sensing elements. However, most researches on terahertz metamaterial EIT are polarization dependent, which limits their application. In this work, we proposed a terahertz EIT structure with polarization-independence...
This paper presents an approach for the improvement of transmittance in capacitive grid polarizer with dielectric substrates by introducing antireflection(AR) coating. The capacitive grid polarizer using Cu material is printed in the dielectric substrate of PTFE. According to different position relations between grid and substrate, the four structures of the AR coating are verified by the reflection...
This paper proposes a planar high-gain circularly polarized element antenna that can be used for array applications. The substrate-integrated waveguide (SIW) cavity is designed to support dual-resonant modes, the ${\bf TE}_{{\bf 120}}$-like and ${\bf TE}_{{\bf 210}}$-like modes, for the implementation of circularly polarized radiation performance. Four rectangular radiation slots and a large perturbation,...
Tolerance analysis has been carried out for a 4 by 4 SIW slot array antenna in this paper. Variations of single geometrical parameter and multiple geometrical parameters have been used in the analysis with the help of full-wave electromagnetic simulator HFSS. The simulated results show that the PCB process is reliable for W-band SIW slot array antenna fabrication.
Active Frequency Selective Surface (FSS) with tunable response has been the focus of many researches. In this work, a new optically controlled approach which exploits variable dielectric property of organic semiconductor under the optical illumination is studied. P3HT and PTAA which are two potential organic polymers with tunable dielectric properties under optical illumination are investigated in...
In order to manufacture antenna integrated with RF-MEMS switch on the same substrate, a silicon wafer was used as substrate. As the high dielectric constant of silicon (ϵr=11.9) degrades an antenna efficiency and excites surface waves especially at high frequency, removing substrate under the antenna and giving birth to an air cavity is a general way to reduce the dielectric constant of silicon. In...
