We develop a novel information fusion scheme based on topological event space, viewed as a distributive lattice. We discuss the advantages of topological modeling and compare our approach to the existing Bayesian, Dempster-Shafer, and Dezert-Smarandache approaches. The proposed scheme is described in detail and illustrated with an example of fusion of three sensors in the presence of missing information.
We investigate probability and belief functions constructed on topological event spaces (without requiring complementation operation as in the definition of Borel sets). Anchored on the Lattice Theory, and making use of the correspondence of distributive lattice and topology, we propose a hierarchical scheme for modeling fusion of evidence based on constructing the lattice of topologies over a given...
Multiple time-course microarray datasets with the same underlying gene network are collected from different experiments. The inference of gene regulatory networks (GRNs) can be improved by integrating these datasets. Microarray data may be contaminated with large errors or outliers, which may affect the inference results. A novel method, Huber group LASSO, is proposed to reconstruct the GRNs from...
Social network worms, such as email worms and facebook worms, pose a critical security threat to the Internet. Modeling their propagation dynamics is essential to predict their potential damages and develop countermeasures. Although several analytical models have been proposed for modeling propagation dynamics of social network worms, there are two critical problems unsolved: temporal dynamics and...
In this paper we proposed a topology control algorithm for the single channel wireless mesh network with m directional antennas equipped on each node. The objective of our algorithm is to maximize the traffic delivery ratio from each non-gateway node to gateway nodes, by adjusting the orientations of the directional antennas appropriately. By allowing each antenna connecting to multiple nodes, our...
In this paper, we present a practical method to integrate different aeronautical communication systems comprising of satellite-based, air-based and ground-based systems into one single global aeronautical network. This integrated network is a solution to the problem of saturated ATM/ATC communications in the coming years. The model of the integrated network is explored as the base to study all concerned...
The research was based on the massive data authorized by CAIDA (The cooperative association for Internet data analysis) Skitter project. We used the k-core decomposition to disentangle the hierarchical structure of Internet router-level topology. Combining with the actual topology measuring data, we first exhibited the pruning procedure of Internet router-level topology. Then we analyzed the characteristics...
Concerning the study of Internet the complex network modeling is of important theoretical value and practical meaning. Topology structure model is the foundation of establishing the Internet system model. This thesis provides natural language description and effect pictures about the four complex network three-dimensional topology generator modules, and uses Java3D programming language instrument...
In this paper we propose a topology control algorithm for the wireless mesh network, where each node is equipped with m non-steerable directional antennas. Our objective is to maximize the minimal traffic delivery ratio from each node to the gateway nodes, by adjusting the orientation of the directional antennas appropriately. We show by simulations that our proposed algorithm improves traffic delivery...
The analysis on the degree distribution and spectral density of graph spectrum of Internet topology structure is the principle content of modeling on Internet router-level topology. In this paper, we studied the fractal features of Internet topology structure. According to the sample algorithm, we got two different groups of sample topologies from Internet topology measuring data of CAIDA. We analyzed...
