A novel terahertz backward wave oscillator was proposed by utilizing sine waveguide combined with a grating reflector. Sheet beam was applied for interacting with slow wave. The investigation results show that, the oscillator can produce over 1.3-W peak power output at 1-THz under 19.4-kV operating voltage and 5-mA beam current.
