In this paper, the performance of a radio propagation channel using a circularly polarized antenna system was evaluated. Measurement campaigns, made in a former gold mine at 2.4 GHz, have been analyzed to obtain the relevant statistical parameters of the channel. Capacity results show a remarkable improvement compared to published Vivaldi antenna results in a different mine.
In this article, patch antennas were used for transmission and reception of a 2.4 GHz radio frequency signal. The aim is to characterize the propagation channel using directive antennas in an underground mining gallery. Satisfactory channel parameters' results were achieved, based on measurements.
Modeling an ultra-wideband (UWB) channel is an important and challenging task in wireless communications. Modeling a channel in an underground mine environment presents additional challenges and difficulties. Many researchers and techniques have treated this subject. In this paper we will present a new approach in modeling the channel in an underground mine by using artificial neural networks (ANN)...
Channel modeling is an important task when conceiving Ultra-Wideband communication systems (UWB). Having a precise and accurate model of the channel is necessary for designing telecommunication systems. Moreover, modeling the channel in an underground mine environment presents more difficulties and challenges to accomplish the task. The objective of this paper is to present a comparative experimental...
