We present a current study of mid-IR isolator using nonreciprocal (NR) magnetoplasmonic InSb mirror. The reflectivity of n-type InSb surface was calculated using Rigorous Coupled Wave Algorithm (RCWA) method. We report magnetooptical (MO) effect for low external magnetic field (B=0.1T), which can be enhanced by a plasmonic grating.
It is demonstrated that the cavity resonance frequency - the round-trip frequency - of terahertz quantum cascade lasers can be injection-locked by direct modulation of the bias current using an RF source. Metal-metal and single-plasmon waveguide devices with round-trip frequencies up to 35-GHz have been studied, and show locking ranges above 200-MHz. A square-root dependence of the locking range with...
Quantum Cascade Lasers (QCL) are probably the most promising sources for Terahertz wave generation. The key issue especially for double metal QCLs is the extraction and the beam shaping of the emitted power. We propose a solution with a TEM-Horn Antenna and we compare it to the most recently proposed solutions: plasmonic array, Silicon-lens etc. New Terahertz antenna designs will also be presented.
We report on-wafer measurements of planar transmission lines on quartz substrate at J-band. We have fabricated and characterized as well CPW than Planar Goubau-Sommerfeld Lines (PGSL) up to 325 GHz. The transmission level is relatively good for straight PGSL but we can notice higher losses for structures with two 90deg-bendings. Different metallization have also been used for the study of metallic...
In this communication, we present THz planar strip plasmonic (THz-PSP) structures based on planar Goubau lines (PGL). In order to improve different propagation characteristics, a membrane approach is studied because it is more convenient for low dispersion propagation and for a long range plasmonic behaviour. Resonating structures such as split ring resonators (SRR) along the plasmonic waveguide can...
