The work described in this paper proposes two Smart Hybrid-Automatic Repeat Request (SHARQ) schemes with incremental redundancy, that are developed for a dual-hop network of two relays implementing cooperative communication. In a dual-hop network consisting of multiple relays, one of the most challenging tasks is to determine an appropriate trade-off point between the end-to-end block-error rate (BLER)...
This paper presents a link-simulation model for cooperative indoor communication systems at 2.4 GHz, based on empirical data. The channel simulator relies on a simple formulation, and takes into account the impact of the node mobility on fading and shadowing statistics. This implementation is then applied to the evaluation of the cooperative system performance in terms of network lifetime.
We propose and parameterize an empirical model of the outdoor-to-indoor and indoor-to-indoor distributed (cooperative) radio channel, using experimental data in the 2.4-GHz band. In addition to the well-known physical effects of path loss, shadowing, and fading, we include several new aspects in our model that are specific to multiuser distributed channels: 1) correlated shadowing between different...
