An in-service field trial with coherently detected DP-QPSK at 112 Gb/s was performed over a Telefónica live link of 848 km, testing long term stability and determining noise margin and optimum launch power of the format.
We present results obtained with a fast optical polarization controller. Tracking errors were <; 0.208 rad on the Poincaré sphere during 282 hours of endless polarization scrambling at up to 60 krad/s speed. Fifty-kilorad/second polarization changes were tracked at wavelengths between 1513 nm and 1600 nm. With this subsystem we optically demultiplexed the two polarizations of a 112-Gb/s PDM-RZ-DQPSK...
PM-RZ-DQPSK with direct detection and fast optical polarisation tracking achieves 6dB noise margin over a long-haul field link. The crosstalk by 10&40G OOK channels at 50GHz spacing is analysed for high channel power.
We implement fast, precise and endless optical polarization tracking of high-speed polarization-multiplexed DQPSK signals. Stable polarization demultiplexing for polarization scrambling speeds up to 800 rad/s combined with 112 Gb/s direct detection PM-RZ-DQPSK transmission over 1035 km is demonstrated.
