A compact folded waveguide traveling-wave tube (TWT) with PPM system operating at 220 GHz with 10 W of output power and 10 GHz bandwidth is being developed. This paper reports the test results of the latest prototype.
We proposed a novel testing method for the temperature difference distribution between the helix and the shell of the helix slow-wave structure (SWS). The thermal resistance of the SWS can be deduced by the temperature difference. A distributed micro fiber Bragg grating (FBG) sensor array and the thermocouple sensors are designed to measure the temperature distribution of the helix and the shell respectively...
A Q-band FWG TWT was developed with some special design strategies and techniques. The test result shows it can operate at continuous wave state. The saturated output power of the TWT is above 200 watts within 2GHz bandwidth and the overall efficiency is above 25%.
A high space resolution platform has been built to measure the cold test parameters of Electromagnetic Band Gap (EBG) waveguide. The space resolution of this platform can be reached to 4μm and controlled by FPGA and computer through LABVIEW. An EBG waveguide is fabricated for measurement. The mode field of cross section and propagate constants have been simulated by our coding and tested by this platform...
